In a certain way we could say that speculating is futile and a waste of time, because we don't have any clues about what character will be the next until we get a official announcement from Nintendo or a credible leak, like happened with Hero. I mean, we could talk about Gex, a character based on Tetris (which would be amazing btw), Nathan Drake or Goku, but talking about characters like these would probably end soon because people in general don't expect them to be in Smash. But people will talk about characters they feel as likely at the moment.

I agree about you say: in speculation we could talk about other characters that usually don't get the same attention. There's nothing wrong if some franchises or characters are seen as likely newcomers. If we do a poll like: who character you think has real chances to enter Smash?
